Obviously these are not ABRSM certificates as they are from the Guildhall School of Music. The coat of arms is embossed and contains the words, Domine Dirige Nos which means, Lord, Guide Us which is the motto for the City of London.
As you will see from the newspaper article, Elsie Gilles was taught by Mrs Macdonald L.G.S.M. and she received honours and a medal in her Preliminary examination in 1932.
