Position of notes on the piano 2

Here is another activity that is suitable for reinforcing the position of notes on the piano. Perhaps the pupil could use a finger puppet to jump, hop, crawl and leap to the notes of the word. You could -

  • jump, hop, crawl and leap to the notes of the word staying in the same register. Here is an opportunity to emphasise high, low and in the middle notes.

  • jump, hop, crawl and leap to the notes of the word going down or up.

  • jump, hop, crawl and leap to the notes of the word all over the piano. For example, a high B, a low D or an in the middle G.

  • jump, hop, crawl and leap to the notes of the word whether they are line or space notes, as specified. If any words contain the letters C, G or F, use this as an opportunity to reinforce signpost notes.
